Our Mission
In the wake of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Nto Annang Foundation joins the rest of the world in the fight against the transmission and spread of the pandemic that has resulted in mounting numbers of cases and deaths worldwide. It’s a matter of importance to take notice of the disruption of people’s normal life, business and economic activities. Determined to make a difference to people’s lives and to draw attention to the seriousness of the pandemic, Nto Annang Foundation, in line with its mission of supporting programs that “improve the quality of life of the people through better housing, nutrition and health”, proposes the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund which will deploy our resources to provide food to two of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in Annangland, the orphans and widows.
COVID-19 does not discriminate, but low-income families are suffering the most. This quote from a school principal in Nto Annang describes it best – “Another virus has been discovered. The name of the new virus is HungaVirus. The virus is being spread by confining people in their homes due to COVID-19 prevention measures without enough money and food. Its incubation period is seven days after you have exhausted your little money and food. Please help!” The poor in Annangland are living life on the margins with little to no social safety net to prevent them from hardship and poverty.
